The TikToker Josh Slavin may have cracked the restaurant code, after he took a notebook to a fancy restaurant while studying abroad in Hong Kong, pretending to be a food critic. Not doing anything other than writing in the notebook after each meal, Josh claims he quickly noticed a difference in service, and ended up with a personal business card from the manager, and a free desert.
This trick sounds like a top tier life hack for those willing to operate on the edge of truthfulness. After all, nobody is explicitly lying while doing this. Perhaps Josh was truthful in the end, as he made a different TikTok actually rating his food and dining experience. With top tier notes like, "yum yum," he definitely was on top of his critic game.
